Contributing to ChipDB
Since this is an alpha-stage project, I don't have an automated
account system yet. If you'd like to contribute to ChipDB, send an email to
chipdb·at·gmail·dot·com
with the following:
- The subject "ChipDB Account Request."
- The username you'd like. No spaces or weird symbols, please.
- What you're intrested in contributing. (Doesn't have to be too specific,
just a quick explanation of why you'd like an account.)
You'll receive a password, which will allow you to submit new entries or
make changes to existing ones. (Authentication is very basic at this point.)
Please note the following:
- All submissions or edits are reviewed before being posted. This may change in the future
if the number of contributors gets large enough..
- You should review the style of the existing entries and keep your submissions
consistent.
- Only dual-inline packages (DIP, SOIC, etc.) are supported at this time.
QFPs, etc. are not yet supported.
- I'm currently processsing emails manually. It might be a day (or more) before you
receive your password or your submission is posted.
- This is not meant to be a comprehensive archive of every integrated circuit
ever created, nor a shopping guide. (I'll leave that to Octopart.)
It's supposed to be a quick reference for the parts used most
often by hobbyists like you and me. However, entries for old, out-of-production
parts are welcome, for the sake of preservation.
